Recipe: Stuffed Medjoul Dates – with Halva & Dubai Chocolate
Medjool dates are delicious on their own, but with a filling they become a real luxury treat. In this recipe we make two types: filled dates with halva and chocolate , and filled dates with pistachio cream and filo pastry (Dubai style) . Perfect as a healthy(er) snack, party snack or as part of a gift package.
🛒 What do you need?
For the Halva Chocolate dates:

10 Medjool dates (pitted)

140 g halva (cut into pieces)

Melted dark or milk chocolate

Sesame seeds (optional)
For the Dubai Chocolate dates:

10 Medjool dates (pitted)
-
2 cups filo pastry (torn into small pieces)

1 tablespoon of butter
-
180 g pistachio cream
-
Melted chocolate
-
Chopped pistachios
👩🍳 How to make them
Halva Chocolate dates:

Cut open the dates and remove the pit.

Fill each date with a small piece of halva.

Dip one end of the filled date into melted chocolate.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

Let the chocolate harden for a while.
Dubai Chocolate Dates:

Heat butter in a frying pan.

Bake the filo pastry over medium heat until golden brown and crispy.

Stir the pistachio cream into the warm filo pastry.

Fill the dates with this mixture.

Pour some melted chocolate over the top.

Garnish with chopped pistachios and let cool.
📦 Storage tip
You can make both types of dates ahead of time and store them in the fridge for a few days. Let them come to room temperature before serving.
